Dejazmatch Giorgis was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. After moving to the United States, Dejazmatch Giorgis attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and graduated with a B.A in Political Science and Public Administration in 1996. Dejazmatch Giorgis then attended Howard UniversitySchool of Law and graduated
with a JD in 1999. While in law school, Dejazmatch Giorgis worked as a columnist for the law school publication, “the Barrister”, and was president of the Caribbean Law Students Association. Dejazmatch Giorgis also attended the College of Arts Science & Technology, (now renamed University of Technology) in Kingston Jamaica between 1982 and 1985.
Upon graduation from Howard University School of Law, Dejazmatch Giorgissuccessfully sat for the Maryland Bar examination and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in December 1999. In February 2000, Dejazmatch Giorgis opened the doors of Rose Law Firm, LLC (RLF), as a solo firm, and he has not looked back. As managing and lead attorney for RLF, Dejazmatch Giorgis have successfully and satisfactorily represented hundreds of clients in the areas of employment discrimination and civil rights litigation, immigration, entertainment, and corporate law. Dejazmatch Giorgis is admitted practice in the State of Maryland Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Attorney Rose also practice in Immigration Courts.
Dejazmatch Giorgis is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Baltimore City Bar Association (Pro Bono Committee), Monumental City Bar Association, and Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association. Dejazmatch Giorgis is a founding member and the board chairman of Haile Selassie I Foundation for Law and Society, Inc., (a charitable organization of Ras Tafari lawyers in the U.S. and the Caribbean), and also a founding member and Legal Counsel to the I-universal Development of Ras Tafari, Inc. (IDOR, a Ras Tafari 501(c) (3) organization based in Washington DC & Baltimore, Maryland.
Dejazmatch Giorgis is blessed to be the offspring of Merdina Rose and Herbert Rose, and be gifted with Roseveta Wellington, his lifelong partner, and four offspring of his own, namely, Kalilia, Jabari, Maya, and Asmara, and also a good extended family. Dejazmatch Giorgis is an amateur tennis player and swimmer. He is chanter and harpist in the ancient Order of the Nyahbinghi Ises to Emperor Haile Selassie I& Empress Menen Asfaw.
