Abiye Gebrehiwot is married and father of two. He has vast experience in the aviation industry. He is a Commercial Pilot in the service of Corporate Aviation. He owns multiple businesses in international aviation logistics, franchise ground transportation, energy reseller, financial and insurance security service, and online retailer.

He served as the president of Medemer in Action. Medemer is a philosophy that brings people together for the betterment of the future of the people of Ethiopia.
Abey is a community organizer, volunteer and member of ECPP, EDTF DMV Chapter, and ICRC, environmental management after natural disaster registered responder.
